During a recent mini vacation, we took a trip to the Tahquamenon Falls State Park, just before heading home. This was not only the first time this far north, but it was my husband and kids first time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and I wanted to make sure we were able to see many great places while we were there.
The Tahquamenon Falls State Park has two different waterfalls, the Upper and Lower Falls. The Upper Falls are the larger of the two, being roughly 200 feet across with a 50-foot drop. More than 50,000 gallons of water flow per second! They are located about 90 minutes north of the Mackinac Bridge.
Even though it rained pretty much the entire time we were at the park, it was well worth the extra drive up there and back home from our regularly scheduled trip.
