Three years ago today I was in the hospital, wondering how long I would be required to stay in the hospital due to the complications of my pregnancy. I had already spent almost a week in the hospital and then a month at home on a modified bed-rest with strict requirements to go to the hospital three times a week for them to run tests.
I went into the hospital the night before because Xavier wasn’t moving as actively as he had been in the past and I wanted to make sure everything was OK. I was admitted because my blood pressure was a bit high and they just wanted to keep an eye on me over night to be sure it was nothing.
The next morning I was told that they were scheduling me for a late afternoon c-section because of my blood pressure throughout the night. Then not long before lunch the c-section was called off because my blood pressure went back to normal and things were looking good. I was still going to have to stay in the hospital, in fact, they told me I’d have to stay there for the remainder of the pregnancy so they could keep a good eye on me.
Then all hell broke loose! You can read more about The Arrival of Xavier Part 1 and Part 2. This is more about it being his birthday! After a very long first year, with all the hospital visits and illnesses, Xavier is 3-years-old today!
Today, Xavier is doing great. He’s a happy, healthy, and very energetic 3-year-old. He loves going to day care while I’m at work, he loves playing with his friends, learning, and having fun. He amazes us almost daily with the new words he says and things he learns. He’s a joy to have and I couldn’t imagine life without him!
