Weight loss has been a huge struggle for me, although it always wasn’t a problem. Until I had kids, I never had to worry about losing weight. However, since having Xavier it has been a lot harder for me to lose weight. My weight has been a constant up and down, but I’m hoping I’ll have some success with my weight loss this time! My new favorite side dish is Grilled Asparagus & Garlic Sauce!
I have tried other weight loss programs in the past, and although I’ve had success, to some extent, I’ve never come close to my goal weight. I’ve been skeptical of trying Jenny Craig over the years, however, now that they offer a starter kit that you can purchase from Walmart, it makes it a little easier to try out without having to commit to their program. One of the great things I do like about the Jenny Craig kit and with the program (which I haven’t joined, but read up on) is that although you get all kinds of meals with the program and kit you still subsidize some of your meal with fresh fruits, veggies, and other items to make full meals. This is great because even though you may be on a diet or going through a lifestyle change doesn’t mean that the rest of your family has to also. So while you are making meals for the remainder of the household, you can include the fruits and vegetables with your Jenny Craig meal.
Grilled Asparagus & Garlic Sauce
Take a little fresh asparagus, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, & pepper and you can have a new side dish that everyone will enjoy
You can grill it in a pan, or if you’re grilling out other foods you can always take it to your grill, the choice is yours. Just start with trimmed asparagus and a little seasoning.
- Asparagus (trimmed)
- Minced Garlic
- Olive Oil, enough to coat the Asparagus
- Salt & Pepper
- Combine the olive oil, minced garlic, and salt & pepper in a bowl
- Coat the trimmed Asparagus evenly
- Place Asparagus evenly in a grilling pan or on the grill and grill for about 5-10 minutes on low heat until they are tender but still crisp.
There are so many ways to make your Jenny Craig meals more unique to your liking. You can simply add a small salad to your chicken salad kit to make your meal simple, or you can get more elaborate. You can add any fresh vegetable to your dinners, one of our favorites is freshly steamed broccoli with a little garlic. The possibilities are endless! Just be sure to keep the side dish that you add to your meal very healthy, otherwise, it defeats the purpose of your eating lifestyle change.
