It isn’t often that I do book reviews, although I’m trying to do them more often. However, when an author contacts me to review their book, I feel the need to. In this case, it was MC Steve the writer of Minecraft: Diary of a Minecraft Wimpy Zombie Book 1 that contacted me. This particular book is about the first day of middle school, and it’s an unofficial Minecraft diary book.

Minecraft: Diary of a Minecraft Wimpy Zombie Book 1: First Day of Middle School (An Unofficial Minecraft Diary Book)

Book Review of Minecraft: Diary of a Minecraft Wimpy Zombie Book 1: First Day of Middle School (An Unofficial Minecraft Diary Book) written by MC Steve.

As a mother of a 6th grader, Diary of a Wimpy Zombie was written perfectly for those entering middle school. The way the book was written it not only has the feel of an actual 6th grader writing it, but it is precisely how a student entering a new school would feel. When starting a new school, even if you have friends who are also in that school you have the feeling of not fitting in.

Although this book isn’t an official Minecraft book, it immediately grabs the attention of Minecraft lovers. I think this is why it caught the attention of my 11-year-old. Thaddeus didn’t know the book was coming and when it arrived he was outside playing. After opening the book and doing a quick look-through, I stuck the book in our big picture window. Within a matter of just a few minutes, he comes running inside to find out what the book was. He didn’t even ask if it was his. He just took it and off to his room to read it he went. It didn’t take him long to finish reading it, as it is a short book, however, he seemed to like it because I didn’t see the book again until I asked him for it a couple of weeks later.

I took the time to read Diary of a Wimpy Zombie and found myself laughing in many spots because I could picture my son talking and saying the same things as Z (Zombulon). I think he related to Z a lot. Especially since he started a new school this year and didn’t know anyone there, other than his younger brother.

Good book for middle schoolers and those that like zombies and Minecraft. I’m sure Thaddeus would love to reach other books by MC Steve.
